They spoke evil of this way!

Lets open our bibles to Acts 19:8-10.
Paul the Apostles encountered different people while preaching in Ephesus. In Acts 19:1-7 he encountered certain disciples namely disciples of John the Baptist who only knew the baptism of John. They had no doubt set in many meetings of John the baptist and heard him speak of the coming baptism of the Holy Ghost but when Paul asked them they said we have not so much as there be any Holy Ghost which tells me they didnt even know the Holy Ghost had been poured out in jerusalem. Paul then questioned unto what then where they baptized and they said John's Baptism. Paul said John truly baptized with water unto repentence saying you should believe on him which is to come on Christ and these 12 men were baptized in Jesus Name received the Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance.
The bible tells us in Acts 19:8-10-
8) And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
9) But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.  
10) And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
The bible tells us for 3 months that Paul spoke bodly disputing and persudaing the thiungs concerning the Kingdom of God. In other words Paul was preaching the Kingdom Message. This was the same message preached by Phillip in Samaria. The bible declares in[u][i][b] (Acts 8:5-8)[/b][/i][/u] 5) Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6) And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7) For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. 8) And there was great joy in that city.
We then read that Phillip just didnt come to Samaria to have a miracle and devil rebuking crusade but we see in[u][i][b] (Acts 8:12) [/b][/i][/u]12) But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
In Acts Chapter 19 Paul in verse 8 is speaking bodly in the synagogue for 3 months disputing the things concerning the Kingdom of God. We see all throughout the book of Acts Repentance and Water Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and the infilling of the Holy Ghost preached in response to the Gospel Message or the Good news of God's Kingdom(Acts 2:37-38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:46-48, Acts 19:1-7). Jesus declared to Niccodemus the Pharisee and spokesman for a group of secret believers who declared "WE" know thou art a teacher come from God[u][i][b](John 3:2)[/b][/i][/u] came to Jesus at night and Jesus not only declared except a man be born again he cant see the Kingdom the Kingdom isnt visible to someone not born again [u][i][b](John 3:5). [/b][/i][/u]Jesus then tells him after asked how can a man be born when he is old enter the second time into his mothers womb? Jesus said except a man be born of water and Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God[u][i][b](John 3:3-5)[/b][/i][/u]
Jesus explained to Niccodemus that except a man(woman) be born of water (Baptism in Jesus Name) and Spirit(Holy Ghost Infilling) he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. This is what Phillip preached at Samaria and this is what Paul was contending with those at Ephesus about even disputing in the school Tyrannus an Ephesian tyrant declaring the Kingdom message and divided the disciples and in 2 years time without tv, radio or even a car preached the Gospel to all of Asia for all heard the Word of the Lord Jesus both Jews and Greeks. Verse 9 says but when the divers were hardended and believed not they spoke evil of this way.
The way that was evil spoken of was the Kingdom message. The unbelievers spoke evil of Paul and what he preached to the certain disciples and those in the Ephesian Synagogue and the school of Tyrannus and what was the way they spoke evil of. Jesus Christ and his Gospel. The Kindgom message of true Salvation which comes by being born again of water and Spirit. The word way here in greek is hod-os'
Apparently a primary word; a road; by implication a progress (the route, act or distance); figuratively a mode or means: - journey, (high-) way.
Jesus spoke about this way that was evil spoken of. [u][i][b](Matthew 7:13-14)[/b][/i][/u]13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Though few there be as Jesus said that find it when they find it they will come in through Jesus the door because if you come in any other way your a thief and a robber [u][i][b](John 10:1). [/b][/i][/u] If you are resisting the Holy Ghost today and have denied the Kingdom message why not give in to Jesus today. Abandon your traditions of men that make the Word of God of none effect[u][i][b]( Mark 7:13)[/b][/i][/u] and allow the glorious light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ the image of God shine unto you because satan the god of this world has blinded peoples minds from receiving the truth and as Paul the Apostle wrote if the gospel be hid it is hid to them that are lost[u][i][b](2 Corinthians 4:3-4).[/b][/i][/u]
So then I ask this question. Did you receive the Holy Ghost when you believed? How were you baptized? These are very important questions that will ultimately have to be dealt with. Either you deal with the truth now and obey it or stand face to face with Jesus the Living God and have to give an account as to why you spoke evil of the way and refused to obey the Gospel.
I close with [u][i][b]( 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8)[/b][/i][/u] 7) And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8) In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Obey the Gospel before it is too late. God is calling you to repent and be water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and he wants to fill you and your children with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost [u][i][b](Acts 2:38-39)[/b][/i][/u]. No where did Paul come against the experience the 12 disciples of John had with God but declared to them the Kingdom message and preached to them the Jesus Christ and they were rebaptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke with other tongues and prophesied. God wants you to be saved by obeying his Word. Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments[u][i][b](John 14:15)[/b][/i][/u] and Paul wrote in [u][i][b](1 Corinthians 8:3) [/b][/i][/u]But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
[u][i][b]( Matthew 7:21-23)[/b][/i][/u]21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
They done all of these things in Jesus name but were still workers of iniquity. Why? As Paul stated in (1 cor 8:3) If any man love God the same is known of Him. Jesus declared in (John 14:15) If you love me keep my commandments. The command that repentance and remission of sins be preached in his name among all nations beginning at Jerusalem (Luke 24:46-49) was not obeyed by the hearer and the name of Jesus was removed out the the plan of salvation because neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name given under heaven among men whereby men must be saved(Acts 4:12).
To be saved is to obey Jesus and be born of Water (Baptism in Jesus Name) and of the Spirit (Holy Spirit Baptism). Dont be a worker of iniquity. Stop writing checks on Jesus that eventually will bounce. All the works you can do and all the times you have cast out devils and prophesied will not be enough. Only Jesus shed blood can remit your sins and your sins can only be remitted in Water baptism in Jesus Name(Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16).
Come to Jesus today and no longer speak evil of the Jesus way. It my friends is the only way to Salvation.

Jesus Promises to Restore the Temple

John 2:13-22

The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, "Take these things away; you shall not make my Father's house a house of trade."

His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for thy house will consume me." The Jews then said to him, "What sign have you to show us for doing this?" Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?"
But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

It's amazing how connected the heart is to the check book. As one man said: YOU CAN GIVE W/O LOVING, BUT YOU CAN'T LOVE W/O GIVING! LET'S EXAMINE ANOTHER POWERFUL VERSE: Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Here we have come to one of the most important aspects of practical Christianity. Giving unto God. Let's lightly examine some biblical perspectives tonight to get you started. You will learn much deeper principles about giving as you walk with God. First of all, you must realize that giving is DIRECTLY connected to FAITH. We will show tonight that it is also connected to salvation! Jesus promised you would receive back (in time) more then you gave. Remember: Sometimes there are more important needs then money in any given time. God said to bring the tithes in the Storehouse. *** AND HE PROMISED A BLESSING FOR GIVING FAITHFULLY! *** The word offering occurs 754 times in the Bible. " " offerings " " 265 times in the Bible. Think about it? What are offerings used for? #1. A HOUSE OF WORSHIP Exodus 35:4- 10 And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This [is] the thing which the LORD commanded, saying, Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever [is] of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass, And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' [hair], And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood, And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense, And onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate. And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded; #2. WORLD MISSIONS This is a sure key to blessing! God has blessed our church because we bless mission endeavors around our world to obey the great commission... Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations... Our church supports about 30 different missionaries each month as well as other endeavors that will be explained later. #3. The GENERAL OPERATING costs of the assembly. Notice the report. I Corinthians 16:1- 3 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first [day] of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as [God] NFC - GIVING PAGE THREE hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by [your] letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. #3. ALMS: Giving that is to a needy individual or family. Deuteronomy 15:7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: Acts 10:1- 4 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band], [A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God. Several points of interest: a> when you fear (respect) God, and are concerned with pleasing him, you will give to those in need from time to time. b> God always honors obedience with Spiritual blessing. c> Our praying & our giving are a memorial to us before God. Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Though we should give to those who have needs, be careful that you don't get taken advantage of by someone who is merely lazy. Often the best way is to give an offering through the church "designated" to a family or need. That way you get properly receipted from the church, but most importantly, sometimes the Pastor or staff may know more about the situation than you do. They may council you to give in another manner. *** From time to time in the church, you will get a call from the secretary saying there is someone in the church who is in need of food or whatever. Please do your best to cooperate with the effort even if your short yourself. God will bless your faith & love! POINTS TO CLOSE ON: Remember: your tithe belongs to God FIRST. After you have given a tithe, then you can give an offering & alms. one of my jobs in seminary was reading to a student who was blind he was a smart man, whith a keen sense of humor. every day he told me that his goal in life was to see jesus-both in the life of others and then on resurection day, When he would come face to face with our lord. This man's physical impairment didn't interfere with his spiritual vision ! Many of us who have 20/20 vision physically are often blinded by sin. We fail to heed God's word, fail to live righteously, fail to confess are short comings. When we do these thing's, we lose sight of what's realy important, and that is jesus. Jesus says we will be blessed when we choose to see and here him. And it is a choise. Some have closed there eye's and have forfeited the blessing's. The blessing come's through our intimate walk whith him and our effort's to proclaim him. spiritual blindness can be cured when we look up and see jesus.   

Speaking inTongues!!!!

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST & THE GIFT OF TONGUES READ ACTS 2:1-18 Very confusing issue to some Tongues has 2 distinct categories (purposes) 1. initial EVIDENCE 2. EDIFICATION of believer & the church through interpretation --------------------------------------------------------------------------- COMPARE THE FOLLOWING: Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. TONGUES = LANGUAGES SPEAKING IN OTHER TONGUES: Language the speaker never learned... ... the Spirit gives the utterance ... Utterance = "something said, remarks, statements" Possibly another national language, maybe not: Others may understand UNKNOWN TONGUES: This is language speaking to God = I Corinthians 14:1-6 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men [to] edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? Let all things be done unto edifying. If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. Page 4 Ephesians 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: >>>> GIFTS ARE FOR EDIFYING, NOT PERFECTING! Note instruction: Anything violating peace/decency is out of order! 14:33 For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order. WHEN UNKNOWN TONGUES ARE INTERPRETED, IT EDIFIES THE CHURCH ------> But what about the edification of an individual? <------- PRAYER LANGUAGE: (the personal form of an unknown tongue) -----------> used in prayer & singing I Corinthians 14:14-15 For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. THIS IS WHAT PAUL WAS REFERRING TO IN ROMANS: Romans 8:25-28 But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it]. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. GROANINGS: "sigh, groan, murmer, pray inaudibly" back to above verses: 14:16-18 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: NOTICE THE TONGUE IS FOR GIVING THANKS! (well) Praising God etc... Public or Private: but to be done in order Page 5 I Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. Q U E N C H : refusing to allow the Spirit to flow | ISSUE IS CONTROL! | Speaking in tongues is merely God's way of controlling for his glory the most unruly, uncontrollable member of our body! James 3:7-8 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. BUT YOU MUST ALWAYS CHOSE TO BE CONTROLLED BY THE SPIRIT... I Corinthians 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- REMEMBER: EVERYONE THAT RECEIVED THE H.G. SPOKE IN TONGUES! tongues is not a new concept: just a new application for the N.T. II Sam 23:2 The spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word [was] in my tongue. Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 8:15-17 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they [their] hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. ((( This was Simon: only place not specifically mentioned! ))) 8:18-19 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:44-48 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Acts 19:5-6 When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. I Cor 13:8-10 Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

A man and his money!

proverbs 11;1-9

1. A false balance is abomination to the lord: but a just weightis his delight.

2.when pride cometh, then cometh shame:but with the lowly is wisdom.

3.The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4.Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

5.The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6.The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but the transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

7. When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: & the hope of unjust men perisheth.

8.The righteousness is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his sted.

9.An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour, but threw knowledge shall the just be delivered.

proverbs;11;11-13

11.By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted; but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12.He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour; but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

13.A talebearer revealeth secrets; but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

proverbs 11;16-30

16.A gracious woman retaineth honour; and strong men retain riches.

17.The merciful man doeth good to his own soul; but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

18.The wicked worketh a deceitful work; but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

19.As righteousness tendeth to life; so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

20. They that are of a forward heart are abomination to the lord;but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

21. Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished; but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

22. As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23. The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24.There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth: and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to proverty.

25.The liberal soul shall be made fat; and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

26.He that withholdeth corn the people shall curse him; but blessing shall be apond the head of him that selleth it.

27.He that diligenty seeketh good procureth favour; but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

28.He that trusteth in his riche shall fall;but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

29.He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30.The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wineth souls is wise.
